Ackermann, a designer well known for the dishevelled look, introduced several ( can we say ) more constructed pieces to his fall ready-to-wear collection in 2013. His designs for the most part consisted of the quintessential oversized layering pieces, and there is an unapologetic luxury in his collections. The fabrics and neutral colour palette are opulent: consisting of cashmere, rich velvet, embossed leather, shiny houndstooth, virgin wool, and textured military olives. I feel as though Ackermann’s style can wrap you up in a lavish comfort that is contemporary and habitually androgynous in nature. “Clothes should never be decoration…when someone feels at peace with the clothes, they feel more seductive, more desirable, more sensual, more everything.” —Ackermann.
